B.S. Chemical Engineering; 3+ years of experience out of petrochemicals, batch chemicals, or really, any PSM-regulated chemical process. Their first choice would be someone who has both process design experience and in-plant process experience. This would include experience developing P&IDs and PFDs, conducting process simulation, and in-plant work doing process optimization and day-to-day support of a manufacturing unit. If someone had the in-plant engineering piece and no process design experience, that would be acceptable as well. Candidates should have experience with as many of the following unit operations as possible: reaction, distillation, drying, evaporation, crystallization, powders conveying, etc. For consideration, candidates must have strong communication skills and must have a team-player mentality. Travel for this role is 30-40%.
Job Description:
This person will be one of 10 chemical engineers in this corporate engineering group that supports plants throughout the Western U.S. This group does the complete design through installation of projects, including front-end design, cost estimation, heat & mass balance, computer simulation, management of vendors, overseeing construction, and commissioning/start-up work. This group also does process optimization and production support when needed. The projects that this group works on could be for both internal and external customers. The parent company is a large company with their hands in a few different businesses that support refining, chemicals manufacturing, agricultural chemicals, etc. This group is based at a plant that houses manufacturing, sales, tech service and R&D. This position is bonus-eligible and relocation assistance is available.
