Experience:
  • Associate’s Degree or Non Degree.
  • 5+ years with in-plant experience out of chemicals, utilities, pulp & paper or foods.
  • Some type of 3D design software is a must.
  • Preferred programs: Intergraph PDS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or PDMS.
  • Ideally should have working knowledge of the following:
    • P&ID development
    • Material of construction for piping and tanks
    • Controls/instrumentation
    • Structural support and cable runs 
  • Pluses would be experience out of a PSM regulated chemical plant
Job Description:
Our client is an international food and chemical production firm with plants throughout the US and overseas. This person will work at a medium size, PSM regulated chemical plant, in which certain units are under FDA/GMP regulations. This person will work with onsite chemical and mechanical engineer on plant expansion and retrofitting project primarily at the Jacksonville site, but on occasion, at the sister plant in SC. This site does not currently use 3D modeling for piping design, so this person will help adopt a 3D software. They are preliminarily using the Intergraph software. In this role, this person will be doing 3D layout and drawings for distillation columns, reactors, filters, field instrumentation, pumps, valves, tanks, distributed controls and cable tray utilities. Job responsibilities include: developing piping disciplines, setting design schedules, pulling measurements for the field, location plat tie-ins into current building systems, develop detailed scopes, overseeing materials of construction, working from P&IDs and project specifications and assisting with startups.
