Experience:
B.S. Chemical Engineering degree with 3+ years of experience out of any PSM regulated chemical plant. This person could be a chemical process engineer with some exposure to PSM regulations or a dedicated PSM professional. They are willing to train this person internally as well as through external schooling on more advanced PSM regulations. Pluses would be experience with any of the following: PSM/HAZOP reviews, mechanical reliability, small project work, process calculations, PHA Facilitation, API, NFPA, ASME, and Root Cause Analysis.

Job Description:
Our client is a rapidly expanding company that produces specialty chemicals, nutraceuticals, and animal feed additives with multiple US and overseas production sites. This job is 40% on site chemical support and 60% PSM support of the small site in Baton Rouge and two others out-of-state facilities calling for travel up to 25%. These sites employ anywhere from 20 to 100 personnel with 1 to 6 chemical engineers on site. The PSM engineer will support the chemical and mechanical integrity parts of the PSM programs and will be responsible for leading root-cause analyses, chemical process calculations, leading and participating in HAZOP reviews, assessing PSM and reliability systems, reviewing operating and maintenance procedures, and assessing equipment reliability. There is growth potential that could take this person into a production or engineering management role at any of the US site or at corporate HQ. Relocation assistance is provided.
