Local Portland Candidates – B.S. Science degree of any type with 4+ years of experience monitoring in-plant quality and overseeing plant changes out of a chemicals, electronic materials, foods, pharmaceuticals, automotive, or plastics industry. Must have either JMP, MINITAB or EXCEL Data Analysis background, be strong with statistics, in plant manufacturing experience, and servicing of internal or external customers. An ideal candidate must show project leadership skills with strong communication abilities. Pluses would include the following: SPC, clean room, wafer fab, slurry production, polymer molding, customer score cards, business exposure, PLC’s or DCS controls and data analysis. Minimal travel is expected; up to 10-20%.
Job Description:
Our state-of-the-art client produces electronic materials that are used in the manufacturing of silicon wafers, cell phones and computers. This person will be based in a 200-person manufacturing facility in support of US and overseas customers. This plant has a high standard of safety and cleanliness, but does not use clean room standards. The process uses mixing and blending of polymers, milling and molding. Responsibilities for this role include the following: interfacing with customers, improving customer quality using score cards, evaluating in-house and client business in reference to quality, trouble-shooting processes both on-site and remote, fielding and solving customer complaints, visiting customer sites on occasion, performing audits internally and externally, and initiate and oversee in-house and customer process improvements. Typically, candidates start out with one client and fully service them. Experienced candidates/employees will service more clients. Minimal travel is expected at about 10% to 20%. Candidates will travel to customer sites or internal manufacturing sites in Chicago, South Korea, Japan and China.
