Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering; 7+ years out of batch chemicals, continuous chemicals, active pharmaceuticals, resins, or petrochemicals. Must have a track record of optimizing plant processes through self-generated ideas, must have developed preliminary P&ID’s, must have performed heat and mass balances, HAZOP, must have performed day to day support, must have mentored junior engineers, and must have worked with reactors. Pluses would be: Six Sigma certification, FMEA, RCRA, experience with complete design through installation of projects, FDA/GMP exposure, distillation, drying, crystallization, centrifugation, DCS controls and field instrumentation.
Job Description:
Our client is a multi-billion dollar International manufacturing company with Multiple US and Overseas manufacturing facilities that produce chemicals, coatings, pharmaceuticals and food additives. This person would optimize a state-of-the-art, ultra-clean medium-size manufacturing facility that makes pharmaceutical ingredients and specialty chemicals using reaction, distillation and crystallization. This person will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, development of preliminary P&ID’s and PFD’s, assisting on project work and continuous improvement projects. Responsibilities will include: cost savings, reviewing of technical reports from onsite engineers, investigate-implement new processes and equipment, trial runs of new products, analyzing data historian files, and assisting on implementation of six sigma strategies. This site has chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers in support of maintenance, utilities, production support, controls and Six Sigma.
