Minimum Requirements:
B.S. Chemical Engineering minimum; 7+ years of post-college, industry experience out of a liquid chemical process. It would be a huge plus to have a background in fermentation technology, but this is not an absolute requirement. Qualified candidates will have used as many of the following unit operations as possible: heat exchangers, bio-reactors, distillation columns, pumps, pressure vessels, and compressors. Qualified candidates will have scale-up and technology transfer experience and must have a high-motivation, high-drive personality. Other pluses include: PE or EIT license, previous experience working in a start-up environment.
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to get on-board with a quickly growing 50-person start-up technology company that is going to be disruptive within the plastics industry. This Orange County-based company has developed and commercialized a new thermoplastics technology that they have taken to market, landing several customers including Dell Computer. They have recently purchased a new facility and will be moving towards full-scale production starting within the few months. This engineer will be integrally involved in technology transfer and scale-up from pilot to full-scale. They will also be integrally involved in helping to design, determine layout and select equipment for the new facility.
